Parse package dimensions

The Parse package dimensions robot turns a string like "120×80×60 cm, 15.5 kg" into separate numbers for Bitrix24 (Alaio) business processes: length, width, height, weight, volume, volumetric and chargeable weight. It also returns the longest side, the sum of three sides and length plus girth, so a process condition can decide whether the shipment is oversize. Output units are configurable, so the result drops straight into a carrier API request.

The robot parses a dimensions string into numbers and computes logistics metrics. It accepts the value of a Package dimensions field or any string like "120×80×60 cm, 15.5 kg" — the parser tolerates the separators ×, x and *, a comma as the decimal mark and units in two languages. The volumetric weight divisor is an input: 5000 for DHL, UPS and FedEx, 6000 for ground tariffs, 4000 for consolidated freight. Chargeable weight is the greater of actual and volumetric — that is what the carrier bills. When to use it: feed sizes into a shipping API request, price a shipment inside a process, filter out oversize freight before it reaches logistics, fill numeric card fields from a single text one. If the string cannot be parsed, the robot returns Success = N and an error message without breaking the process.

What input parameters does the robot accept?

Parameter Type Required? Default
Dimensions string string yes
Volumetric weight divisor (DHL, UPS, FedEx — 5000; ground tariffs — 6000; consolidated freight — 4000) int — 5000
Length unit if the string has none select mm, cm, m, inch — cm
Weight unit if the string has none select g, kg, t, lb — kg
Output length unit select mm, cm, m, inch — cm
Output weight unit select g, kg, t, lb — kg

What does the robot return?

Parameter Type
Success bool
Length double
Width double
Height double
Weight double
Volume, m³ double
Volumetric weight double
Chargeable weight double
Longest side double
Sum of three sides double
Length + girth (L + 2×(W+H)) double
Output length unit string
Error string

What errors can the robot return?

The robot writes these messages to the business process log when it cannot complete a step. The text tells you what to fix in the settings or the data.

  • Could not parse the dimensions

Scenario: filter out oversize freight before it reaches the logistics team

  1. A deal has the Package dimensions field filled in
  2. The robot parses the string and returns Length + girth
  3. A process condition compares it against 108 inches and routes large shipments to a dedicated manager
